Dance biography

Sabrina Kelly

BA (Hons), R.A.D, A.R.A.D, L.R.A.D, R.T.S

Sabrina began ballet classes at the age of three in a church hall outside of London, training in the R.A.D. syllabus. At fourteen, she attended The BRIT School, covering performance and theory, which included contemporary, choreography, jazz, laban notation and modern dance. She continued to take ballet classes after school.

At sixteen, Sabrina was awarded a scholarship to Bird College, where she graduated with a three-year Diploma in Dance and Musical Theatre. At Bird, she took ballet every morning and weekly pas de deux classes.

While on a dance contract in Paris, Sabrina suffered an injury, prompting her to pursue a career as a classical ballet teacher. In 2012, she graduated from The Royal Academy of Dance with a BA (Hons) and began teaching ballet across London for R.A.D examiners. This eventually led her to open her own school in 2015. She choreographed shows but began to miss her career as a dancer, which led her to train and perform again in London as a soloist with The London Symphonic Orchestra. Unfortunately, this final contract resulted in yet another injury.

Today, Sabrina continues to teach Pilates and barre work to dancers, helping them understand their bodies and recover after injuries. She still practices barre work at home to maintain her strength, technique, and love of ballet. Ballet will always be her first love.
